HERITAGE TRAILS

Stone Dancers Megalithic trails. We have created interesting and useful trails for you to follow, which will allow you to visit some of the more interesting and well- kept megalithic monuments and ancient sites in the county of Carmarthenshire. This could be done by car or bike, and on some trails by foot. All monuments are already on public land or accessible by public footpath, and extra information concerning each one is given along the way, that hopefully helps you understand why and how these places were created and used by our ancestors. We also include information about good pubs where lunch may be found, and facilities such as toilets, and accessibility for the disabled. Route1. Carmarthen to Llansteffan circular route. Good for bikes, small country roads. Some hills. From Carmarthen take the Johnstown road, the B4312, signed to Llansteffan. At the village of Llangain, take the right turn down a lane, following the sign saying Merlin’s Quoit. SN37911598. It may be necessary to park on the main road through the village, and walk down the lane. The Quoit is at the end of the lane. More soon in next update :-)
